Tairua is a beach holiday resort on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula and an easy 2hr drive from the main centres; Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga. It boasts the stunning white sand Ocean Beach and a beautiful harbour overlooked by the twin peaks of Paku. Surfing, swimming, kayaking, bush walks, hiking, kite surfing and fishing are favourite pastimes. It’s a central location for day rides north or south.
Tairua is very central to a number of popular Coromandel destinations with Cathedral Cove, Hot Water Beach and Hahei 20 mins away, Whitianga 45mins and Whangamata 30mins. Pauanui is a quick 5 minute ferry ride away.
